Client Privacy Policy

R. Osman CPA focuses on implementing fair information practices that are designed to protect your privacy.

You may have some concerns about the confidentiality of the information you provide to this office. It is our policy to keep your personal and business matters confidential to the extent permitted by law.

Client Information, Privacy Policies and Notice Regarding Advisor-Client Privileged Communications

The Federal Trade Commission has issued regulations that require tax preparation firms to provide an annual statement of firm privacy policies. Here is our policy:

We handle all information you provide us with the utmost confidentiality. Your personal information will only be shared with members of our firm who need to know this information in order to complete the work you have hired our firm to do. We will not disclose your personal information to anyone outside our firm without your express written permission to do so, or unless we are legally required to do so. For example, if a mortgage lender contacts our office for a copy of your return or information about it, we will ask that you provide written permission prior to our responding to that request.

You should also be aware that anything you tell us during the interview for the preparation of your tax return is confidential, but not protected from the IRS. Privileged communications (those that are protected from IRS authority to compel our testimony) are limited to non-criminal tax advice on matters before the IRS or non-criminal tax proceedings in federal courts. Although we consider any information you provide us as confidential, return preparation engagements are not covered by advisor-client privilege.

If you feel the nature of any subject matter to be discussed requires protected communications, please raise that issue so that we can discuss your possible need to consult with an attorney for legal advice.

Website Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

This policy explains how R. Osman CPA PLLC (“R. Osman CPA,” “we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit our website, contact us, or use our online services such as our secure client portal (together, the “Services”). It applies alongside the Client Privacy Policy above, which covers the information you share with us as a client.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you request a consultation, call or email us, or sign up for updates, we collect what you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, the type of business you own, and anything you choose to tell us in a message. If you use the Tax Savings Snapshot on our website, your answers stay in your browser unless you submit our consultation form, in which case the strategies it suggested are sent along with your request.

Client documents. If you become a client, you may share tax returns, financial statements, payroll records and other documents through our secure client portal or other secure methods we provide. These are handled under our Client Privacy Policy and your engagement letter.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our site and the providers that host it receive basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view and the site that referred you. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when you visit.

Cookies and similar technologies. Our website uses your browser’s storage to remember small preferences, such as whether you have closed a pop-up, so you don’t see it again. We may use analytics or advertising tools, such as Google Analytics or Google Ads, to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our marketing. These tools may set cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiry and schedule consultations
  • To provide tax, accounting, bookkeeping and advisory services you engage us for
  • To send appointment reminders, service updates and, with your permission, tax tips and firm news
  • To operate, secure and improve our website and Services
  • To comply with legal, regulatory and professional obligations

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

We share information only as needed with service providers who help us run our practice, such as website hosting, scheduling and customer relationship management, email and text messaging, electronic signature, secure file sharing, and tax and accounting software providers. They may use your information only to perform services for us and must protect it.

We may also disclose information when required by law, subpoena or other legal process; to taxing authorities when you authorize us to; to protect the rights, property or safety of our clients, our firm or others; or as part of a merger, sale or transfer of our practice, subject to applicable professional rules on client confidentiality.

Text messages

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

You can opt out of receiving SMS messages from us at any time by replying STOP or by contacting us at info@rosman-cpa.com. Please note that opting out may affect your ability to receive appointment reminders or important updates by text.

Email

If you receive marketing emails from us, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email. We will still send messages related to services you have engaged us for.

How we protect your information

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections, a secure client portal for sharing documents, access limited to staff who need it, and a written information security program as required for tax and accounting professionals under the FTC Safeguards Rule. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please use our secure portal, not regular email, to send sensitive documents such as tax returns or Social Security numbers.

How long we keep information

We keep client records for as long as required by law, IRS rules and professional standards, and as needed to serve you and resolve any questions about our work. We keep inquiries from people who do not become clients only as long as needed to respond and follow up, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you may opt out of marketing messages at any time. To make a request, email info@rosman-cpa.com or call (917) 397-1288. We will respond within 45 days. We may need to verify your identity, and we may keep information we are legally or professionally required to retain. You will not be treated differently for making a request.
